FAQ's Picking Up the Car back to list

How much is the deposit and what is it for?

The deposit is used to cover additional costs that may arise (extra miles, extra car rental hours or days, a one-way charge, lack of fuel on return...)

The deposit amount may be blocked (on credit cards) or charged (on debit cards) and varies depending on the office at which you collect your vehicle. To consult these differences you can visit our Terms and Conditions page.

If the amount is deposited with a credit card, the blocking period will depend on your bank company (the average tends to be 10 days, but can be up to a maximum of 30 days from the start of the rental period).

If the deposit is paid with a debit card, the maximum time for a refund will be 15 days (from the date on which the vehicle is returned), although the majority of unblocks are carried out in less than 10 days.

If you don't want us to block (credit card) or charge (debit card) the deposit, you can sign up for our Super Relax cover.

Feel free to visit our website if you want to read Goldcar’s reviews from other real customers who have already travelled with us.
