What happens if I return my car outside the scheduled time?

We offer a free grace period for vehicle returns:

·In Italy and France: the free grace period is 29 minutes.

·In other countries: the free grace period is 59 minutes.

For example, if your return is scheduled for 14:30 and you are abroad, you can hand in the keys by 15:29 at no extra cost; for rentals in Italy and France, the deadline to avoid a penalty is 14:59.

If this grace period is exceeded (more than 29 minutes in Italy and France, or 59 minutes abroad), you will be charged for the additional rental days plus a late return fee (approximately €40). You can check the exact amount in the Terms and Conditions specific to your rental location.

Important: Remember to park the vehicle only in the designated spaces. If you leave the car elsewhere, our agents might not find it and could record it as unreturned. In that case, contact the office immediately to provide the vehicle's exact location: view the list of offices here
