What is an excess and how does it work?
An excess is the maximum amount you must pay for each damage inflicted on the vehicle. If the cost of the damage exceeds the amount of the excess, Goldcar will cover the amount in excess of the deductible. Example: If the excess is 1,100€ for bodywork damage, and you cause bodywork damage costing 2,700€ to repair, you will only pay 1,100€ and Goldcar will assume the difference 1,600€.
We will require you to pay a deposit for the vehicle, intended to cover any cost or damage during the rental period.
By taking Super Relax or Mega Relax additional covers, you will reduce the security deposit. Its price and methods of payment: - Its amount depends on the vehicle category. - Your bank card must have sufficient funds to cover the rental and the security deposit amounts. - If you use a debit card, the amount will be debited from your bank account. If you use a credit card, the amount will be blocked on your bank account and unusable for the duration of the rental period. - If you use a credit card the amounf of the excess will be blocked at the beggining and if you are not charged any additionnal fees or light damages, we will release the amount blocked at the end of the term (take into consideration that this blocked amount may disapear from the bank statement without notification to the cardholder by the bank). - No other means of payment is accepted for the security deposit.
When booking through third-parties: CAUTION: if you have taken out additional covers with third-parties (Rentalcars, Booking.com, Doyouspain, etc.), or if you have insurance with your bank card, you will have to pay the amount due to Goldcar and then request reimbursement from the third party that insures you. The terms and conditions of these covers and insurances are those of the website of the third party.
