How much is the deposit and what is it for?

There are two main types of security deposit for:

1. The fuel: you will be requested to prepay a deposit for the value of the fuel inside the tank. We deliver it full to you. Once you return it full, Goldcar will return you the paid amount. This is what we call Full-Full policy. You can find more detail about the methods of payment and calculation of the fuel value in the section 7 of our General Terms and Conditions.

2. The car itself: except if you take our Relax, Super Relax or Mega Relax covers, you will be requested to prepay a deposit for the damages to the car and other possible expenses. This is called excess.

If you are not charged any additionnal fees or light damages for which you have admitted responsability, the security deposit will be fully returned to you. Otherwise, the amount of the light damage and any other cost will be deducted from the security deposit.

There are other types of security deposits we can request you at the desk, like the one for baby seats, or GPS. Its amount depends on the location and dates of your rental, and you can find full detail in our Terms and Conditions.
